Birthday/President's Day Weekend

We had a really fun weekend with Jason's family for President's Day. We celebrated all of the February Birthday's, including Ryan's, and just enjoyed being together. Everyone came to the OC on Saturday (had a little party at our club), then up to Burbank Sunday after church and stayed over for Monday. We had some fun playing games with the adults, some sports for the guys, some girl time for the girls, and the cousins just loved being together. Jayne and her cousin Taylor had their first sleep over too! Taylor stayed at our house Saturday night and went to Church with us Sunday. The girls were so good and had so much fun together! Then, Tuesday....we all got the flu! Not fun. But we're now recovering :-)

Jayne's First Sleep Over

Ryan's 1st time to Lawry's Steakhouse (we couldn't get a babysitter for him, so he got to go)

Happy Valentines!

We had a wonderful Valentines weekend! On Thursday Jayne had a Valentine party at school and got to take Valentine's to her friends. On Friday, Jayne and I hosted a party for Jayne's Sunbeam (church) class at our house. They decorated cookies, made Valentine mailboxes, played games, had snacks, and exchanged Valentines. They are an adorable little group of 6 girls, all the same age. We had so much fun! Then Friday night, I made Jason a fancy, romantic dinner here at home. We had babysitting from our babysitting trades, so we got to enjoy the evening and then picked up dessert before picking up the kids. Happy Valentines Day!!

Birthday Celebration #1

We had a really wonderful family dinner at my parents on Sunday and celebrated Ryan and my brother's birthday! Ryan LOVED his chocolate cupcake and ate the entire thing. I think he thought we were going to stop him or something and then when we didn't he just kept going. He kept the entire chunk of cupcake in his hand the whole time and cut shoving it in as he ate like he couldn't eat it fast enough. So funny! He also loved his truck from his cousin Ashton! Thanks, Mom and Dad, for a great dinner and evening!

Dance Party

We love to dance. Jayne is our main dancing queen. She is literally dancing almost every second of the day. She doesn't stand still ever, and she's not just wiggling around, but very gracefully dancing and twirling. We can't wait to get her into a dance class again someday. Ryan is really getting into the groove now too. Now that he can stand and walking along everything, he holds onto something with one hand and let's loose his dance groove. The funny thing is.... our kids dance just like us. Sorry kids. We know we're white :-) Jayne looks like me and Ryan totally looks like Jason dancing. Too funny!

Like Father, Like Son

Before

So as you've all seen in the pictures since his birth, Ryan has crazy hair. He came out with pretty long hair and it's only been growing like a weed ever since. I felt like he was too little to take him to an actual hair cutting place to get cut, so I've been cutting it here and there so it wasn't totally horrible. But, the time has come to get it professionally done. So we set off to Great Clips today for his first hair cut. I want him to look extra adorable for all his Birthday celebrations coming up in the next few weeks. And wow, he ended up looking exactly like his daddy when he was done. So Adorable!!

I had to hold him on my lap so he could be totally still and not fall out of the chair. I gave him his first ever lollipop and that lasted most of the time. They said he did an amazing job being still. We've had a lot of practice at home when I would try and try to cut his hair but had no idea what I was doing. Jayne took all our pictures since I couldn't. She's a budding photographer!

Jayne loves taking pictures and steals my camera daily to take pictures. But she loves being in them just as much. She couldn't resist turning the camera around and taking this self portrait during the hair cutting session. Not the best angle, but it was too funny not to include in the story.

After: Jason Jr.

We went grocery shopping at Ralph's after and let him ride in the fake car for the first time. Don't worry, I completely sanitized it and strapped him into the sealt belt!

Happy February!

I've always loved February, but now besides Valentines day, we also get to celebrate Ryan's Birthday! It's going to be a fun month. Jayne and I just decorated for Valentines Day. We're hosting a little party for some of her church friends and I'll do my annual Valentines Dinner for Jason. I make him this special german meat dish I only do a few times a year. We don't really do a lot for each other for Valentines day. I just think it's a cute holiday and have more fun doing the arts and crafts stuff with Jayne. As Jason has said, Valentines day is a made up holiday for men to give stuff to their wives, but Jason does things like that year round, without a reason. That means more than doing it on a day he 'supposed' to. I am very lucky and spoiled to have an amazing husband who constantly surprises me with flowers, chocolate shakes (my favorite), clothes, diamonds, and trips. Just becuase he wants to. :-) Here's to a great month. I'll have lots of posts of our fun activites!

January Happenings

Heavenly Moment: Sitting on an almost deserted beach on a perfect day, my kids playing nicely in the sand (not eating it or throwing it), and no one climbing on me (for the moment). Ahhhhhh.......

So January went by in a wave of beautiful sunshine and getting back into our routine after the big holidays. I really haven't posted cause I haven't had any cool pictures. All we've really done different, outside our routine, is go to the beach a ton! I'm obsessed. Its been so beautiful and the kids are so good, playing in the sand and giving me a few moments without kids crawling on me. So we've been at least 6 times in the last 2 weeks. We also had a really fun day with our friends in Burbank! I forgot to bring my camera into the play area so I don't have a picture of that. We also had a fun get together with Leanna and her kids (we also went and had a picnic at the beach), and a fun Superbowl party with Dave and Leanna, and kids, at our house. We had a short but fun trip to my parents while Jason was out of town for work. We got to go to Taryn's field hockey game and she scored her first goal! So exciting. And Jason got to take Jayne to the Daddy and Me day at her preschool last weekend. It's been a great month. I got sick this past week with a sinus infection, but I'm recovering! I'm excited for February and Valentines day. More on that later. Here's a few not great pictures from the past few weeks......

With Jason and kids at the Beach on a Saturday.
Tori, Brooklynn (my cousin), and Jocelyn. Jayne was having a melt down and wouldn't get in the picture. The girls have so much fun together! We love getting together.
Taryn at her Field Hockey Game! I played in HS and loved it. She's only in middle school, but made the middle school team and thinks she might tryout for the HS team next year. I was so excited to catch one of her games and see her score a goal!
Ryan fell asleep on my lap at the game so I actually got to watch! Small miracle :-)

Leaving for Daddy & Me Day. They did it on a Saturday so dad's wouldn't have to take off work. Jason took her out for breakfast too and then their little program at school. She had been talking about it the entire month and loved it!

Jayne had been begging us to take her swimming so we finally did this past weekend. The water was actually warm and the weather perfect. We had a great day. And Jayne swam like a fish! She didn't forget anything and just jumped right in. She even starting to take breaths when she swims really far. I can't wait till this summer.
Jayne took this yesterday at the beach. I guess this pretty much describes our month :-)
