A Happy Birthday

I had a wonderful birthday week! Thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes, calls, presents, etc. We had a little party at my parents last weekend, then on my birthday my mom, grandma, sister Tiffany (and Ashton), and Nita drove up to take me out to lunch! We had so much fun! That night Jason made dinner, and grilled fish. He's such a great cook. He cleaned up, then we went out for ice cream. I had a great day! Then Friday, my parents drove up to babysit for us so we could go out on a date! We haven't done that in a while, so it was great. We went to dinner and a movie. I also finally got around to taking the kids swimming at the club on Friday and we went back on Saturday with Jason. We topped off the weekend with church Sunday, then a BBQ at my bro/sis-in-law's house. We had such a great weekend and I had such a great birthday! Thank you to everyone!! I think this was a great birthday cause I'm still in my 20's, just barely. I really think I'm going to cry next year turning 30! How can I really be that old! So I'm not going to think about it. :-)

Tag- 4x4

My Sister-In-Law Jenni tagged me for this cute post. You find the 4th picture in your 4th folder on your computer. Here it is!
This makes me want to go back! We are in Ocean Isle, North Carolina at our friends family beach house. We stayed there for a week with them 2 summers ago, I think. Jayne was around 18 months or so. We took this picture on the deck of the house. It was one of our best vacations! We loved it. And we love North Carolina now too cause we had such a great time. Hopefully we'll get back out there for another vacation some day. We did South Carolina this past summer and that was great too. Fun, fun!

Does it feel like October to you?

I am so tired of being hot! It was 95 degrees today and we're only 5 miles from the beach. This is truly the endless summer! It has been hard getting into the Halloween/Fall spirit when it feels like the middle of August. I still haven't put our swim stuff away and I've already had to get Ryan the next size up suit! That's 3 sizes in 1 long summer!

So I took the kids to the pumpkin patch today to try and get us in the Halloween mood. We had a great time at this totally commercialized, overpriced pumpkin patch near the mall. It was clean, had tons of games, rides, food, decorations, anything Halloween you could ever want. Maybe we'll go back with Jason on Saturday to do the pony rides. Jayne got to pick 1 ride today and picked the swing. Ryan was a good sport as usual.

Here's wishing for jeans and sweatshirts weather......

Mailman

So Jayne is really excited about the mailman delivering mail to our new house. I had the garage open and was taking boxes in and out. Jayne was following me around. I had just taken something inside and she yelled to me from the garage, "Mom, the mailman's here! I'll get the mail!" I knew she couldn't reach ours since it's the top box so I figured she's be yelling out to me to come lift her up so she could get it (I've done that a few times already), so I start heading for the garage to follow her. When I get there, this is what I saw! Pretty smart little cookie! I laughed and grabbed by camera out of my diaper bag by the door to snap her in action!

Laguna Niguel Lake

So we found this great little lake hidden away just a mile from where we live. It's in the Laguna Niguel Regional Park. You can't swim in it, but you can rent fishing boats and fishing gear and go fishing! And there is a really great park there and running trails around the lake. We loaded the kids up in the double jogger and took them down there to explore this past Saturday. A great little find! Beautiful run and beautiful day!

Sharla's Baby Shower

The kids and I headed down to Sharla's Babyshower on Thursday night. We had so much fun! My mom and her friend Julie did a wonderful job putting it on. It was at my mom's house. I made some cream puffs and Sharla got a cute green Baby Jayne's blanket. We had a great time and can't wait for baby Dallin to be born!!

Ryan asking Baby Dallin when he's coming out to play!

Jayne had so much fun with Brooklynn and Mason.

Our New "Club"

Part of our rent covers our membership to the neighborhood club, literally called, "The Club". We had to buy our membership cards but otherwise it's covered by our rent. The club includes 2 pools, plus kids pool, and hot tub, 2 basketball courts, 2 sand volleyball courts, workout/weight room, 5 tennis courts, playground, and BBQ areas and a party room. The place is great! The kids and I took a break from unpacking and went over to check the place out and get our membership cards. The kids loved the playground and couldn't wait to go back to swim. We actually went swimming there today but I didn't get any pictures. It's tough when I hold Ryan the whole time in the water to snap any pics, but maybe we'll get there with Jason this weekend and I can take some.

Other Recent Happenings.....

Tyler's Bday Party:
The day before our big move, our nephew Tyler celebrated his 4th birthday in OC at Boomers. Jayne is always excited to see her cousins, but after a week straight of packing boxes and going to storage (she was even playing that her dolls were going to storage), the kids and I needed the break. We had so much fun! The kids played Mini-Golf and rode a few rides, then we had dinner back at Jen's. Thanks again Mike and Shan!

Grateful

What have we been doing since our last post?..... Moving! We just moved into a cute little house in Laguna Niguel (Orange County). It's been very fun going through all of our things, some of which we haven't seen in 2 1/2 years! We've gotten rid of a lot, but realize we've also added a lot since then with 2 kids! I will post pictures of the house soon (we should finish boxes this weekend), and will be sending out our new address and phone number in an email asap.

As we've been unloading boxes for a week and half now, I have felt very grateful. I'm so grateful to Jeff and Judy for letting us stay in their home while Jason finished his MBA, so grateful to my parents for letting us crash at their house for a little while this summer while we found a place in OC, so grateful for an amazing husband who takes such good care of us, very grateful for 2 adorable kids, and even more grateful that I get to stay home and take care of them. I love our little house, which has a yard and community pools and stuff. And we're very grateful to still be living so close to all of our family.
