Baby Jayne's Blog

I have some cool posts over on my Baby Jayne's blog. I especially love this smocked summer dress I just learned how to make. Some people didn't know or realize I had a Baby Jayne's blog with all my crafts and projects on it, so here's a link. It's also on my side bar all the time. I put all my projects over there and my personal stuff, including pics of the kids, etc. here.

Horses

When I was little, this was one of my favorite toys! I rode this horse for hours. I rode it so much I actually wore this horse out and had to get a second one. I remember being tired after riding for a long time. My mom has told me many times that she wondered where I was going and how thankful she was for this horse because it helped burn a lot of my energy. (yes, I've always been high energy). So when I saw this little horse toy, I was so excited. It's not made out of metal parts like mine were but it's very cute. Neither of my kids have taken to it like I did, but they do like it. Ryan's just getting big enough to put his feet up on the rail and really ride it.

Tradition

I Love the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It has been a family tradition since I was a little girl. Back to school shopping and lunch at the cafe. My mom and sister drove up to meet us and celebrate our tradition opening day :-) The Anniversary Sale is way better than the other 2 sales and I always go, even if I'm not buying much. Some years I save up and have a good stash of cash to spend :-). This year I didn't buy much. Nothing for myself...yet (there's still an adorable pair of shoes over there with my name written all over them). I took my kids (a little risky), but it was still fun. Jayne of course loved every minute. She can accessorize and appreciate the clothes, styles, and colors. She was so much fun! Ryan was a Tasmanian devil who I chased after the entire time and finally gave up and went home to put him down for a nap.

Lake Mohave

We had a fabulous few days at Lake Mohave with my family! It was my parents, siblings, and most significant others. Jason and my sister-in-law couldn't get work off to go, but everyone else was there. The kids were WONDERFUL! They loved the boat, the water, the sun, and everything! They both did a great job. Jayne and I rode the tube together. We all swam and I got to ski! We had a great time! A huge THANK YOU to my parents for coordinating the trip, the gas, the boat, and all their help with the kids since I was solo. We had a blast but I think the kids were exhausted, so this has been a good mellow week to recuperate :-)

My mom and Ryan, he loved holding the flag.
Fun memories with my kids.
Jayne and my dad swimming.
Both kids taking a nap!
Jayne, my mom, cousin Ashton

My brother Trent catching some air. He's really good. It's hard to catch him in mid air with the camera delay.

Summer Must Read

So this is a WONDERFUL book! A very quick and easy read and makes sense. It's not republican or democrat, but focuses on the founding values and principles of our country, through tons of quotes from our founding fathers and how we've gotten away from it. I highly recommend this book. Frankly, I'm sick of the two party system and politics in general. It's so corrupt and I'm sure most feel like I do and that there's nothing I could do to change it. But we can't keep on the same course. We have to come together and try and stop the massive spending, expansion of government into our lives, so we can get back to the great America we've always been. It's only $6.99 at Costco. You'll be glad you read it! Have a great week! We're off for a little vacation!

Fabulous 4th of July!

We had a wonderful day! We celebrated with Jason's family up in LA. We went swimming at my bro & sis -in-laws pool club, followed by a wonderful feast at my in-laws house! The entire Southern CA Jonas family got together to celebrate both the 4th of July and the homecoming of Jason's cousin, Chris, who was stationed in Baharain for a long time. The kids had a blast playing with cousins, the food was fantastic (and yes, my bruschetta was a hit) and the fireworks were wonderful. We have the perfect view from their backyard so we didn't have to go anywhere, which made it nice. The kids were utterly exhausted (we are too!). So today has been a little rough. We're gonna take it easy tomorrow as well and try and fully recooperate so we're ready for our ski vacation with my family the end of this week :-)

Fun Friday!

Another fun week! Monday we hit the pool with a bunch of friends. I didn't take any pics. Tuesday we hit the beach. It was a little cool cause we were there early but turned out to be a beautiful day!
Wednesday we hit the free movie and Jayne had a playdate with her friend Maddie.
Friday, Jason had the day off. We had so much fun. We took the kids to play tennis. They chased the balls and played a little too. I had to get this picture of them on the grassy hill next to our court watching us. And yes, I know Ryan's hat doesn't fit but it was blocking sun from his face. He needs a new one for this year :-) Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July!!!

What'cha Work'in on Wednesday?

Getting ready for 4th of July! Jayne and I did a little decorating. And sewing...

I've been working on this wall hanging for 4th of July! I got the pattern from my friend Julie! I just love it. This pic is before I put the binding on it, but it's the best shot with the lighting. I just love it!
I framed this quilt block. I think it turned out really cute.

A few of our little cute decorations.
