Food Plan & FHE
I made it! I blogged Mon-Fri for the entire month of June. At times the month seemed long but it was fun to post more stuff and here more comments. I'll keep posting often but don't guarantee everyday :-)
So here's my food plan and FHE Lesson topic for the month of July. I started planning out my dinners for the month to help save money. Cooking for a small family, you don't always use up full cans of certain things or packages of meat I've opened I need to use up before it goes bad, etc, so I plan things I can use up that stuff. It also saves me time from peaking through the cupboards looking for something to make and wandering around the grocery store trying to remember what I forgot. I still keep stuff on hand but I'll go each week and make sure I have what I need for dinner for that week. It also saves on buying stuff I don't need or that will go bad before I can use it. Hope it gives you some ideas. I know I'm always looking for new ideas to add to my menu's. Feel free to send me any dinners you think are amazing! I'd love some new recipes :-)
*minor change. My babysitting night switched weeks so I'll swap a date with my babysitting night :-)

Fabulous Weekend!
Jason and I had a fabulous weekend! The kids really wanted to stay at my parents again, so we dropped them off Saturday morning and picked them up Sunday evening! The kids had a blast. They swam, played in the garden and huge yard, played with the new chickens my parents got, went out to eat, went to church, and watched movies. My parents love having them and my kids love being there. Jayne actually cried for about 30 minutes because we had to take her back home. But she informed us that Grandpa told her she could come back anytime she wants and she really wants to go back.
Meanwhile, Jason and I had a wonderful time! We slept in (hurrah!), went Kayaking in Newport Harbor, got to work out, went out to breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and played tennis for several hours. We enjoyed every minute and of course appreciated our kids even more having had a little break from them :-) Thanks again Mom and Dad!
Jayne loved the new chickens! And she loves running around my parents house/property like a wild girl. I know I loved it too!

Favorite Things Thursday
One of my favorite things is cooking and making cookies with my kids! And they love it too. It's not so much the cookies, but doing something fun with them, having them help me, and then getting to enjoy our hard work with some warm cookies right out of the oven. Most recently we made some Snickerdoodles for Father's Day on Sunday. Here are Jayne and Ryan helping me lick the paddles while we wait for our cookies to bake. Don't worry, they only get a little bit :-)

What'cha Work'in on Wednesday?
So many projects, so little time! I've been in Vegas all week visiting my sister and just got back today. My mom and I (and the kids) went together and we had so much fun! Besides getting to check out her new house and spend time with her and her family we also decided to help her get all of her sewing "stuff" together! My sister got a new pfaff sewing machine for Christmas but hadn't gotten it out of the box yet. So my mom and I helped her get her sewing room all put together and we decided to make a few projects. We made these adorable tote bags together! And also started working on this really cute summer dress! I'll post pics of that when I finish it. Now that I'm home, I'm really going to try and get this 4th of July wall hanging done before the 4th of July next week so I can decorate my house!! It's getting late and I wish I already had it up! We'll see if I can finish it by next Wed. :-)

We lined it with a coordinating fabric and added two pockets. The material is a thicker twill that should withstand some major carrying. I love my new summer bag!

Tuesday Recipe- Chicken Marinade
This is absolutely fantastic, easy, and we eat it usually about 2 or 3 times a month (it's one of Jason's favorites). I usually do my chicken on kabobs and grill but you can also leave them as breasts too. And I usually let it marinade at least 1/2 the day. It's so good. Let me know if you try it and if you liked it!
1/2 Cup Soy Sauce
1/4 Cup Olive Oil
1/4 Cup Red Wine Vinegar
1 T Oregano
1/2 tsp Basil
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
Mix well and pour over chicken. Marinade at least 1 hour, but better if longer.

Favorite Things Thursday
Fun Weekend!
We had such a great time at my parents house this past weekend. I managed a few pictures during all our fun! I'm sure we'll be back soon!
A party at Leanna's new house to celebrate her 30th Bday! We can NOT be that old. How did that happen! Now she's got me thinking of what I'm going to do for mine in a few months...

Running a 5K with my parents, sister (with the Vista Stake). Thankfully my dad pushed my double jogger, cause it was all on these dirt trails around these lakes and some parts where near impossible to push the wheels through the sand and some straight up hills! We all got a great work out and my mom and I did a little extra.
My Sister, Taryn's, dance show. That's her in the front, second person from the left. Perfect smile and super skinny :-) My kids loved the show. Ryan clapped. Jayne told me, "That was wonderful."
My Mom and I sewing the top of her quilt together!! Yeah, we got it done! Next up, my grandma's quilt for her bday!
Going out to lunch to celebrate my Grandpa's 75th Birthday! We also had a big party on Sunday for him after church.
Fun, fun, fun!!
Fun, fun, fun!!

What'cha Work'in on Wednesday?
The question should really be, what am I not working on! I have lots and lots of little projects. I have several repairs (pants, dresses, little holes, hems, etc). They always seem to pile up. A few little things to finish up some projects from last week, and a whole slew of things waiting to get done.
The past weekend I was at my parents and my mom and I finished the top of her big beautiful, king size quilt!! The pattern is called, Don't Fence Me In, and the fabric is Iced Mocha from Moda. LOVE IT! Can't wait to see it done.
I also got all the fabric to start my custom order for this red baby bedding set! I'm doing the bumpers and bed skirt. I love these reds!
And I got this really fun fabric to start another custom blanket order. It's going to be all baby blue and chocolate brown. This fun dot minky, I think is a good combo. Now, gotta find a cool pattern to pull it all together!

Monday
We've still been playing since last week so I have lots of pics to post and fun updates. It's gonna happen tomorrow. But here's my regular Monday post with meal plan and FHE topic idea. We're actually going to do our FHE tomorrow because I was driving home tonight so we had dinner out and then put the kids straight to bed.
Monday-Out
Tuesday- Balsamic Chicken & Past Pomodoro
Wednesday- Enchiladas & Mexican Rice
Thursday- Grill Fish & Risotto, Carrots
Friday- Homemade Pizza (babysit)
Saturday & Sunday- w/ Family for Father's Day
FHE Topic is Temples. We're going to talk more about what goes on inside. Here's a great link(click here) with pictures, talks, etc. There's also some great stuff in the Friend, including this little temple template that you cut out and put together and it has little cards that go inside that talk about preparing yourself to go to the temple. Very cute.

Favorite Things Party, Gifts, and Dinner!
This weeks projects have all been about having fun! I got a new custom pillowcase done for my Wed. trip to LA, sold another one (yeah!) and got ready for drop off, got lots of presents bought or made and wrapped ready for the trip to LA and the trip to SD this weekend. Then I got to put together a project for a Favorite Things Party! 2 of my friends put it on once or twice each year. It's kinda like Oprah's favorite things. Everyone makes/buys/brings a favorite thing(s), and you bring 5 of the sale thing to the party. The cost is supposed to be around $6 for each. Since I love to work out and eat I brought something for each. I brought my ultimate favorite workout socks (Addidas No Show Women's Performance Socks w/ Arch compression, Anti-microbial and Always Cool) and a box of Junior Mints (my favorite candy). I put them in little bags and made little tags. The party was so much fun! I loved everything that everyone brought and I got some adorable things (special almonds, shampoo/cond, in-n-out gift card, music cd's, bottled water, magazine, car air freshener). I loved the party!!
