Food Plan & FHE

I made it! I blogged Mon-Fri for the entire month of June. At times the month seemed long but it was fun to post more stuff and here more comments. I'll keep posting often but don't guarantee everyday :-)

So here's my food plan and FHE Lesson topic for the month of July. I started planning out my dinners for the month to help save money. Cooking for a small family, you don't always use up full cans of certain things or packages of meat I've opened I need to use up before it goes bad, etc, so I plan things I can use up that stuff. It also saves me time from peaking through the cupboards looking for something to make and wandering around the grocery store trying to remember what I forgot. I still keep stuff on hand but I'll go each week and make sure I have what I need for dinner for that week. It also saves on buying stuff I don't need or that will go bad before I can use it. Hope it gives you some ideas. I know I'm always looking for new ideas to add to my menu's. Feel free to send me any dinners you think are amazing! I'd love some new recipes :-)
*minor change. My babysitting night switched weeks so I'll swap a date with my babysitting night :-)

Monday

We've still been playing since last week so I have lots of pics to post and fun updates. It's gonna happen tomorrow. But here's my regular Monday post with meal plan and FHE topic idea. We're actually going to do our FHE tomorrow because I was driving home tonight so we had dinner out and then put the kids straight to bed.
Monday-Out
Tuesday- Balsamic Chicken & Past Pomodoro
Wednesday- Enchiladas & Mexican Rice
Thursday- Grill Fish & Risotto, Carrots
Friday- Homemade Pizza (babysit)
Saturday & Sunday- w/ Family for Father's Day

FHE Topic is Temples. We're going to talk more about what goes on inside. Here's a great link(click here) with pictures, talks, etc. There's also some great stuff in the Friend, including this little temple template that you cut out and put together and it has little cards that go inside that talk about preparing yourself to go to the temple. Very cute.

Monday Meal Plan and FHE

Happy Monday! We're off to Disneyland for a few hours before the kids naps. But here's my mini- meal plan this week. Jason's headed off to a boys trip this weekend so we're headed to my mom's for a great weekend.
Monday- Fajitas
Tuesday- Strawberry Balsamic Chicken (*new), Broccoli
Wednesday- Chicken Pot Pie
Thursday thru Sunday- Trip!
And tonight for FHE I'm doing it on the Priesthood. I'm mainly using this lesson (click here) from the 4-7 age manual and condensing it down and made my own coloring sheet for after. I'm going to talk about their baby blessings too and include some pictures from those days.

Happy Monday

June1 and I'm starting my new blog stuff :-) So here's my food plan for this week:

Monday- Chicken Parm & Spagetii, Broccoli w/ balsamic glaze, with the great rosemary bread from costco
Tuesday- Marinated Chicken Kabobs on the grill, Garlic Green Beans, Rice
Wednesday- Enchiladas, Mexican Red Rice
Thursday- Home made chicken nuggets, roasted potatoes, broccoli
Friday- Date Night!
Saturday- In LA with Family
Sunday- Grill

And for my Family Home Evening(FHE) lesson tonight, we are going to be doing stuff out of the Friend magazine. I saw this great article on developing your own FHE curriculum for your family and it had some suggestions. I modified it for our family, but basically I do the following: 1st Monday of the month we do a few stories and activities out of the Friend Magazine, 2nd and 3rd Monday we do a topic (like baptism, prayer, Sabbath Day,etc), the 4th Monday we do a story from the scriptures (reading it, flannel board, etc).

So for tonight, we're going to read the stories The Best Summer Day, and Jesus Christ Blesses the Children. Then we're going to do the activity on How many people can you help?, I can Help my Family Be Happy and then the game from the Sharing Time Activity (Foundation for Happiness), then I'll have Jayne color the coloring page which is in the book.

You can download everything from the friend online and they have some really cool games and online coloring and stuff for the kids. Check it out if you haven't seen it lately. Jayne loves playing on this site.
