Best Friends

Jayne and Ryan are best friends. Jayne is so wonderful with Ryan. She acts like a mix between his mother and his buddy, and he just adores her. He sobs and sobs every time Jayne leaves to go to preschool. He follows her around, even playing barbies and sitting in her beauty parlor chair, and she'll spend countless time throwing balls, and digging in the yard with him. I love that they have so much fun together. To Jayne's credit, she never gets mad or annoyed at having him follow her around or want to be with her. She always acts kind and nice and includes him even when she has friends over. I hope they stay this way as they get older :-)

Climbing on rocks at the park.

"I'm gonna get you!"
If you lay on the ground, Ryan will tackle you. Doesn't matter what or why you are laying on the ground, he will come running to land on you. I fell back on the grass and sure enough here he came! And I actually got a picture mid air :-)

Back to Disneyland

I'm so excited our passes are back active and everyone's gone back home so we can go to Disneyland with only 1,000 people instead of 10,000 people! We went on our off day this week and had so much fun. We only had a few hours but it was perfect and we got to do some of the bigger rides that usually have too long of lines. Unfortunately Ryan is having some major separation anxiety issues. If I even move away from holding his this far, to take this pic, this is what he does. I go back and hold him and he's fine. Not sure what's up with all of this but I hope it passes quickly. Not being able to drop him off at Nursery, gym babysitting, or playgroup without major crying is getting old...and it only started last week when Jayne went back to school. I think not having her around is throwing him off. Bummer.

First Day of Ballet & Tap

Jayne just started her first official ballet and tap class at the Ballet Conservatory. It's a real deal dance school and she has been so excited! She's asked me all summer since we went to sign her up in May when she would be starting. She really wants to be a dancer (honestly, she really wants to be the next Hannah Montana), so she was very serious in class today and totally focused on what the teacher was telling them to do. It was so cute! She's taking the class with 3 friends. Aren't they adorable!

First Day of Preschool & Playgroup!

The day has finally come- The start of preschool and our routine. Jayne was so excited she was the first one up, before 6am. I made her this purple dress for her first day. She was more than happy to pose for pictures before school. She did preschool last year, so this is her second year and now she's doing 3 mornings a week for 3 hours. It's a small private preschool, 10 kids and teacher and an assistant. Adorable kids and families. We're really excited about the program and think Jayne will love it. I also love that it's 5 minutes from our house (less if I hit the lights) so I don't waste so much time driving!
Ryan also got to go to his playgroup today. I drop him off and he gets to play with 4 other little boys, all his age (they all actually look almost identical with blonde hair and blue eyes). He LOVED it! He did great! And I LOVED my hour and half to myself! I haven't had that in over 4 years! It's only a little time but it's a great mental break :-) Ryan and I will get Monday's and Friday's together and he plays on Wednesdays and I will host every fifth week.

Jayne needed a little pillow to take and leave at school. They have a 5 minute quiet time where they lay down and listen to classical music as they transition from outside to inside time. We didn't have a pillow so I whipped this up from my scrap box last night. Jayne loved it. So it was worth the time.
This was Jayne at class. She was all smiles and just ran right in to play. No worries with her. She's comfortable in whatever situation and makes friends so easily. She gave me a full report after school of everything she did. I LOVED it!

A Fight On Weekend!

Our long wait for college football season and USC football to resume is over! To kickoff the celebration of Jason's bday this weekend, we took the kids to the home opening USC football game. Jason was in heaven. The kids LOVED it! I don't know what that says about us, but Ryan can't sit through sacrament meeting for an hour, but could happily sit through over 3 hours of a USC football game. And he didn't just sit through it; he cheered, clapped, pumped his hands to the fight song, and cried when I tried to take him into the tunnel to get a little shade before half time. He kept pointing out to the field. He took a 20 minute cat nap on my lap during half time and then was happy as can be right back into the game. Jason was proud. Jayne loved every minute as well, and had fun copying the cheerleaders moves, watching for the horse every time they scored, and watching the game.

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Jason's bday, which included lots of great meals, lots of family, and lots of football. I think he was pretty happy!

We picked up Sal's sandwhiches and ate outside before the game. I love this pic with turkey hanging out of Jayne's mouth. So funny! The kids love Sal's sandwhiches as much as we do.
Ryan kept turning his hat backwards like Jason. He sat like this on Jason's lap for a long time, totally into the game!
Thanks to my mom for making Jayne her special USC dress. I bought the fabric at Joann's and sent to my mom to make into something for Jayne. Jayne returned from her weekend with Grandma with this dress, the matching shirt, red converse sneakers, new socks and bows! She was SOOO excited!
We went to the Game with Jason's parents.
And my Dad was at the game with my uncle, so he came to see us during half time (right after Ryan's nap, hence the pacifier and dog :-). It was a double treat to get to see 2 grandpa's and a grandma on game day too!

This was Ryan through the whole game.

"I loved it! See ya next Saturday!"
Happy Birthday Jason! We love you! You're the most amazing husband and daddy! We are so thankful for you!

Pismo Vacation

We had such a wonderful time in Pismo/Shell Beach. The weather has been HOT and miraculously Pismo was a perfect 70 during the day and cool in the evenings. We even got to wear jeans in the evenings and sweathsirts!! We haven't done that since what, April? We had a great time! 1 more weekend of fun until the routine begins :-)
Packed and Ready to Go. Only 4 days but lots of stuff :-)
Gorgeous Views from the Cliffs at the Hotel
Even the view from the Tennis courts was fabulous
